Mary Sumner House, home to Mother's Union - an international Christian membership charity - was opened on 21 July 1925 by HRH the Princess Mary Viscountess Lascelles, and was built from the donations of members and friends of Mother's Union throughout the world. Mary Sumner House is a Grade-II listed venue in the heart of Westminster, offering affordable meeting room hire from a choice of 8 meeting rooms and Conference Hall - ranging in size from 6 people in a boardroom layout up to 120 people in a theatre-style layout - and flexible catering options.
Mary Sumner House offers assisted wheelchair access (Access Category 2) and access for delegates with mobility issues (Access Category 3) by way of the following:
- Ramp from street level into the building
- Lift* to access Lower Ground, Ground, 1st & 2nd Floors for meeting rooms and disabled access toilet on the 4th Floor
- Stair lift for wheelchair users to access the Conference Hall in the Lower Ground
- Disabled access toilet in the Ladies Toilets on the 2nd Floor
- Unisex disabled access toilet on the 4th Floor

There is an out-of-hours fee to cover the additional hours outside of our normal booking times.
For weekend bookings, the out-of-hours fee is charged for the duration of the booking time in addition to the venue hire fee.
We offer a discount on all room hire fees to registered charities only.
A Charity Registration Number will need to be provided in order for us to apply this discount.
Are Display Screens & the Projector in the Conference Hall included within the room hire prices?
For all other meeting rooms on our first and second floors, a display screen (with HDMI cable) is included in the venue hire fee.
Lunch and any other food-based catering will need to be provided through an external catering company.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refreshment servings to meetings in the Conference Hall internally.

We do NOT have an alcohol licence, so you cannot sell alcohol on the premises.
You are, however, welcome to serve alcohol to guests free of charge.
Please be aware that there isn't a bar on site, so alcohol will need to be provided by yourselves or through an external catering company.
